Our Wellness Program

Update - September, 2005
Ongoing activities…
-
Weekly weight loss
support group at noon on Wednesdays.
-
During the 1st
12 week group, 5 people lost 35 pounds.
-
Another 12
week group was started on 7/6/05.
-
As of 9/1/05
the group is on week 9 of the 12 week program and the group
lost a total of 20.7 lbs! That is a large bag of dog food!
Think about carrying that around all day. For the two
sessions; this 6 weeks and the 12 weeks prior to this we
have lost a total of 57.9 lbs--that is the size of a small
Labrador retriever or a small child!

Daily 12:15 pm
walking support group in the park behind office. We’ve had low
activity during the hot, rainy months.

Information has
been distributed to the wellness committee when it comes in the
mail from WELCOA and other places.

Wellness minute
emails are distributed monthly plus additional ones if pertinent
information is available.
Success stories that we know about…
-
S. joined a
health club and is working out with a trainer and so far has
lost over 30 pounds. She also stopped smoking.

W. and B. do
power walking at lunchtime.
-
Several
members of our Weight Loss Support group have had good
success: M. has lost over 11 pounds and is working with a
personal trainer, P. has gone down one dress size
-
S., from our
satellite office who participates via conference call,
joined on-line Weight Watchers and has had good success
-
These people
have quit smoking: P., V., L., C. and, S.—All of them quit
“cold turkey” except S. who is using the patch.
