This information was very helpful to me. Thank you for the information and web sites, they were easy to read and understand.” ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A patient responded to the MedWatch Total Lifestyle Counselor, “I received my health review letter and the web sites were very helpful. I just had a coronary catheterization yesterday. I thought I was having a heart attack, but it was just chest pain. My catheterization was okay, but kind of scary. Well, because I had that information from those web sites I know I need to take better care of myself. I know I need to change the way I cook from the old Southern style cooking because it has too much fat and too much salt. Thank you for the information on how to prevent heart disease. Now, with the information I have learned I need to exercise every day. I am making out a grocery list right now and my goal is to lose 25 lbs which is 10% of my body weight. My clinic doctor told me this is how much I need to lose. He loves the clinic and was very impressed with the Health Risk Assessment review. The information sent to him from the Total Lifestyle Counselor was so easy to understand. It broke the information down for him and made sense to him. It made him want to change his lifestyle. The patient remarked, “This health information has even got me wanting to use my seatbelt”. Last spring I was walking and exercising really regular. I went to this health fair and these labs were a shocker. I went to a nutritionist and another doctor regarding my lab results. This past spring my triglycerides were in the 300’s and my cholesterol was in the 200’s. Now that I have stopped exercising for two months my triglycerides have rose to 600 and my cholesterol has risen to the 300’s. What a big difference since I am not exercising! I realize now that I need to exercise and I need to learn to eat different. I am so glad that I went to the health fair and had my lab work done. Otherwise I would not have known how much not exercising was hurting my health!
