Workers' Compensation Management MedWatch offers a Worker's Compensation review program
that gets involved at the beginning of care! We provide medical review prior to any
admission for scheduled, non-emergency hospital confinements, and also continued stay
review for emergency hospital confinements for medical or surgical admissions involving
the worker's compensation recipient. We determine if
the case can be certified, using only established medical criteria. We immediately
involve the Physician Advisor in these cases to assure that certification is without
question. The Advisor may choose to discuss the case directly with the attending
physician. Our
certification process is unique in that it addresses the relationship between current
working conditions and the medical situation under review, and/or the possible aggravation
of a pre-existing condition by the work environment or the work itself. All information
collected and processed during the episode of care is directly and regularly communicated
to the claims adjustor. All aspects of
the claim are included in the review process, and our nurses routinely negotiate for
appropriate services until the case is no longer under review |
